About Southwest Edmonton Homes For Sale
The oldest neighbourhood where you'll find homes for sale in Southwest Edmontonis Old Strathcona, once a city in its own right. Here you'll find a mix of everything from heritage homes to luxury condos and new single-family infill homes. Located just south of the North Saskatchewan River, between Mill Creek and the University, its sub-neighbourhoods include, Garneau and Strathcona.
Other well-established Southwest Edmonton real estate can be found in areas including Petrolia, which is the areas surrounding Greenfield Park, South of the University and Kaskitayo, located on the north banks of Blackmud Creek, sub-neighbourhoods include Bearspaw, Blue Quill, Erminskin, Keheewin, Skyrattler, Sweet Grass and Twin Brooks.
The final older residential area in Southwest Edmonton is Riverbend, located at the confluence of the North Saskatchewan River and Whitemud Creek. New Construction In Southwest Edmonton
There are a number of newer and new construction homes in the Southwest Edmonton area, particularly in the Heritage Valley, Windermere and Terwillegar Heights areas. The Heritage Valley neighbourhood was established in 2001 and it's bordered by Ellerslie Road SW to North, 41 Ave SW to the South, Gateway Blvd to the East and Whitemud Creek to the West. Its sub-neighbourhoods include Allard, Blackmud Creek, Callaghan, Chappelle, Heritage Valley, MacEwan, and Richford.
Windermere is another residential area where development began in the 2000's. Windermere is located on the extreme Southwest fringe of the city between the North Saskatchewan River to the West and Whitemud Creek to the east, Ellerslie Road to the North and 41 Ave SW to the South—it's directly west of Heritage Valley. Neighbourhoods in the area include Ambleside, Glenridding and Windermere.
Terwillegar Heights is the third area for newer and new construction homes in Southwest Edmonton. It is slightly older than the previous two, having been established in 1992. It is also a bit more central, being located inside the Edmonton Ring Road. Neighborhoods here include Haddow, Leger, MacTaggart, Magrath Heights, South Terwillegar and Terwillegar Towne.
